How to Verify a Chinese ESP Manufacturer: Registry, Certificates, Reports and the Plant, With Our Own Entries

Verifying a Chinese ESP manufacturer means confirming that one registered legal entity stands behind the license, certificates, test reports and proforma invoice, and that its plant builds the electrostatic precipitator. A factory photo names no entity; the license’s credit code lets you trace one through every document. Twelve checks below decide the shortlist, before any deposit.

This page helps you decide whether a Chinese kitchen ESP company that has quoted you is the manufacturer behind its own documents, and whether it goes on your shortlist. It shows where each record is kept, what each one proves, and what it leaves open, then fills the sheet in for our own company. It does not read the product evidence itself, size a unit, or compare prices. For what the product documents prove, see our commercial kitchen ESP buying guide. For our own commercial terms and how to book a factory visit, see our electrostatic precipitator supplier profile.

One legal entity behind every document: what “a real ESP factory” means on paper

On paper, a real ESP factory is one legal entity whose name and credit code run through every document you are given. That means the business license, the registry record, the certificates, the test reports and the proforma invoice. The plant you are shown is where that same entity builds the electrostatic precipitator. Photographs of a workshop, a stand at a trade fair or a long product list are not on that list, because none of them names a legal entity.

The key is the Unified Social Credit Code: 18 characters printed on a Chinese business license and tied to one entity. The English name on a quotation is the one the company chose to use abroad, and the same company can appear under more than one English spelling. So ask for two things before anything else: the Chinese legal name and the credit code, both as printed on the license. Every other row on the sheet is matched against those two.

Trading companies are legitimate businesses. The question this page answers is narrower: which entity you would contract with, and which entity builds the unit and stands behind it. A management-system certificate is a good test. Our ecology unit specification writes it as clause E3: management-system certificates shall be issued to the legal entity that manufactures the equipment. A trading company that files a factory’s ISO certificate as its own fails that clause, whatever its website says.

A record can be used as proof when it names the same Chinese legal name and credit code as the license. When it names another entity, it proves something about that other entity.

This table answers who keeps each record and what it can carry. It does not answer whether a given record is genuine; that is checked with the body that keeps it, row by row, on the sheet below.

The 12-Check China ESP Factory Verification Sheet

Twelve checks decide whether the company quoting you is the manufacturer behind its documents. Once you have a copy of the business license, rows 1 to 6 can be done from your desk. Rows 7 to 9 tie the certificates and reports to the entity, and rows 10 to 12 need the supplier’s cooperation. The sheet is our own checklist, not an industry standard or an audit protocol: the records it points to are official, and the questions are ours.

This is how to verify a Chinese ESP manufacturer: work down the rows in order, since each check leans on the ones above it. Copy the “Check” and “Where to check it” columns into your supplier file, and fill in one line per row as you go. A row you cannot complete is a question to send the supplier, not a verdict.

The 12-Check China ESP Factory Verification Sheet. IF every row names the same legal entity, the company quoting you is the manufacturer behind the documents. IF any row names a different entity, stop and ask why before you send a deposit.

11Who issues the proforma invoice and who receives the paymentThe proforma invoice and the bank details on it; the contact number in the registry record’s annual reportWhether your money goes to the entity in rows 1 and 2Anything about the equipment; rows 8 to 10 cover that
12Reference projectsContact details from the supplier, subject to its client agreeingThat a past buyer will speak for the supplierThat your project will perform the same way

This sheet settles who you are buying from. Which model fits your kitchen, and how a unit performs, are left to the product evidence and the quotation. The registry site could not be opened for this guide, so its field names are not quoted here. Check each item against the license and the record as displayed.

Decision rule. IF rows 1 to 4 do not resolve to one registry record, THEN stop before samples or a deposit, BECAUSE every other row is checked against that record. IF row 11 names an entity missing from rows 1 to 9, THEN ask who you contract with and who builds the unit, BECAUSE only that entity’s certificates and reports apply.

The registry record: what China’s enterprise credit system publishes, and what it does not

China’s enterprise credit system shows that a company is registered and what has been filed and published about it; it does not show what the company builds. The National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System (国家企业信用信息公示系统, at www.gsxt.gov.cn) is the public registry for Chinese companies. The site could not be opened when this guide was checked in October 2026. If it does not load for you, ask the supplier for a dated screenshot of its record. Search it with the Chinese legal name or the Unified Social Credit Code from the license, since an English trading name may not bring up the record.

The system rests on the Interim Regulations on Enterprise Information Disclosure, State Council regulations revised in 2024, as posted by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR). Article 5 makes SAMR responsible for building the system. Under Article 6, the market regulator publishes each company’s registration and filing information, chattel mortgage and equity pledge registrations, and administrative penalties there.

The company’s own part is the annual report. Under Article 8, a company files its report for the previous year between 1 January and 30 June, through the same system, and makes it public.

Article 9 lists the contents. The contact details, operating status, investments, shareholders’ contributions, equity transfers and websites must be public. Headcount, assets, liabilities, revenue, profit and tax are published only if the company chooses. A record with no revenue figure is therefore not a warning sign in itself.

Article 18 sets out two lists a buyer should look for. A company that does not publish its annual report on time, among other failures, is placed on the list of abnormal operations. Serious falsification can put it on the list of seriously illegal and dishonest companies. Article 18 does not say where the lists are shown, so ask the supplier to confirm in writing that it is on neither list, and check the record yourself.

Article 11 marks where the system stops: each government department and each company is responsible for the truth and timeliness of the information it publishes. The record shows what was filed, and the company is responsible for its own filings.

If the entity is on the list of abnormal operations, ask the supplier why before going further. If the record cannot be found under the name and code on the license, ask for a fresh copy of the license. A copy is only a copy; the record is the reference.

A stock listing gives a second public record, kept by the exchange rather than the regulator. The Beijing Stock Exchange publishes its listed companies’ announcements on its own site. Check that the company and stock code the supplier gives you appear there, and that the listed company’s name matches row 1. A listing covers the listed company itself. A subsidiary or a trader using a similar name is a different entity, with its own credit code and its own registry record.

Certificates and test reports: match the holder by the credit code, check validity with the issuer

A certificate is checked with the body that issued it, and matched to the license by the legal entity, not by the spelling of an English name. Since 30 September 2026, that first check has a rule behind it. SAMR Announcement 2026 No. 28 covers the reporting of certification information and the management of certificate information queries. Under point 2, a certification body licensed in China has to offer the public a free, real-time and convenient way to check whether its certificates are valid. It may do so on its own website or by another means, and the method is reported to CNCA and made public.

CNCA, the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China, keeps a second place to look for some certificates. Under point 3 of the same announcement, basic information on certificates issued under CNCA’s own certification rules can also be looked up on CNCA’s site. The certification body supplies that information and is responsible for it. CNCA’s certification results query sits at cx.cnca.cn. For certificates issued under a body’s own rules, the body’s lookup is the place to check.

The English name on a Chinese certificate can differ from the one on the quotation, and ours is an example. Our ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certificates print the holder as Jiangsu Baolijie Environment Technology Stock Co., Ltd. That is a transliteration of the Chinese legal name. Our official English name is Jiangsu Polygee Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. Both belong to the same registered legal entity, Unified Social Credit Code 91320500758460625H, as our ESP certifications page states.

If the holder’s English name differs in spelling, ask which legal entity the certificate was issued to, by Chinese legal name or credit code, and match that to the license. If the entity differs, the certificate belongs to another company, whatever the covering email says.

A product certificate adds a second test: the model list. A company can hold a genuine certificate that does not cover the model on your quotation. Our UL 867 listing, File E522667, names the LK and SE 6K, 12K and 18K models at 230 V, 50 Hz, and no others. Our CE certificate FQC2602501 names LK30 to LK480, LK30E1 to LK150E1 and the UV series, valid to 9 January 2031. What a UL 867 listing covers is set out in our UL 867 guide.

A test report is matched the same way: the manufacturer named on it should be the entity in row 1, and the laboratory should confirm the report. Under CNCA Secretariat notice No. 50 of 2026, the inspection and testing report number query was suspended in October 2025 for an upgrade. The query was to reopen to the public from 8 October 2026, searchable by report number, laboratory name or client name, with the laboratory’s contact details shown for confirmation. Each laboratory is responsible for the reports it uploads.

The notice does not say which older reports are in the upgraded system. A report that does not come up is a question to put to the laboratory, not proof that it is false. What the CMA mark on a Chinese report means, and how to read the report field by field, is in our electrostatic precipitator test report guide. For our own reports, the company named is the same legal entity as on our license. One example is report ZY05W230298 from Beijing Zhongyan Huanneng (CMA 230121340370): the LK160 at 16,000 m³/h, 97.6%.

Decision rule. IF the certificate holder, report manufacturer and license name one entity, THEN move the documents on to the product review, BECAUSE each now speaks for the company quoting you. IF a report number does not come up in CNCA’s query, THEN ask the laboratory to confirm it, BECAUSE the laboratory confirms its own reports.

Manufacturer or trading company: what the plant visit or the video walkthrough has to show

A plant visit or a live video walkthrough settles the factory question only if it shows the entity from rows 1 to 9 building the electrostatic precipitator. That means collector cells, high-voltage power supplies and cabinets in production, the production lines and the testing area. A showroom or an assembly bench with finished units shows less. A trading company can show you a showroom too; parts in production are what a showroom lacks.

A video walkthrough shows what the supplier points the camera at, unless you ask for more. Send the list before the call, and keep it short enough to cover in one walk:

  1. The company name at the gate or the reception, matching row 1.
  2. Collector cells being made.
  3. High-voltage power supplies being built or tested.
  4. Cabinets being made.
  5. The production lines, and how work is tracked on them.
  6. The testing area.

If you cannot travel, ask for a live video walkthrough and send the six items beforehand. If the company that will invoice you is not the company whose plant you are shown, ask for the contract to name the manufacturer.

If you want someone on site on your behalf, an audit firm you appoint can take this sheet as its scope for the company, not for your order. A visit is not an inspection of your order. Whether the units built for you match the proforma invoice is checked before the balance is paid, as set out in our electrostatic precipitator pre-shipment inspection guide.

Our own plant is in Zhangjiagang, about two hours from Shanghai. Cells, high-voltage power supplies and cabinets are made on site, with MES-managed production and an in-house testing area. The power supply has its own certificate: our SPP high-voltage power supply carries CE certificate UDEM M.2024.206.C109411, listed on our certificates page. On-site tours and live video walkthroughs are both available. The factory gallery shows the ESP assembly line, the quality testing lab and client visits before you book.

Our own entries, row by row

The table below carries our entries for Jiangsu Polygee Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., and each entry names where it can be confirmed. Rows 4 and 5 are left for you to read on the registry, and row 11 on your own proforma invoice, rather than restated by us. Every other entry points to a record or a document you can check without taking our word for it.

If you are checking us, work down the third column. If you are checking another supplier, use this as the model of a completed sheet, and treat any row that the other supplier cannot fill as an open question.

This table answers who we are, against each row. Which of our models fits your project is for the product pages, such as the kitchen electrostatic precipitator range, and the quotation.

Rows 8 and 9 apply by model; row 7 applies to the company as a whole. Product certificates and reports name individual models within the LK series, the LK-E series and the kitchen ESP hood, not whole series. A three-stage kitchen ecology unit is not covered by a certificate or report on the LK series alone. Ask for the documents that name the model on your quotation, and read them with our buying guide.

Scope and limits

The sheet comes before the three layers of acceptance and clears none of them.

  1. Layer one, equipment evidence: the certificates, test reports and datasheets for the models quoted. The sheet tells you whose they are, not what they prove; read them with our buying guide and test report guide. After ordering, check the units against the proforma invoice before the balance is paid.
  2. Layer two, installation and interfaces: capture at the hood, the duct route, the supports, the supply and the access side decide whether the unit goes in as tested. Agree them before the drawings are final; see our ecology unit installation guide.
  3. Layer three, whole-system operation: the delivered airflow, your menu, the cleaning kept up and the stages after the ESP decide the result at the discharge. Agree at handover how that will be checked.

Passing one layer does not clear the next. A clean registry record and a good plant visit come before layer one and prove none of the three.

  • An official record proves the record. Under Article 11, each party is responsible for what it publishes. Use the record to match names and codes, and ask the supplier about anything the record leaves open.
  • A record that does not come up is a question, not a verdict. Ask the party that keeps the record, the regulator, the certification body or the laboratory, before you draw a conclusion.
  • An ISO certificate is not a product certificate. It certifies a management system. Check product coverage on the product certificate’s model list.
  • A listing is not a product approval. It makes the company’s announcements public. It says nothing about a model.
  • A visit is not an order inspection. The units on your order are checked against the proforma invoice before shipment.
  • Import classification is a separate question. Which tariff code your customs broker uses, and any import permits it brings, is set in the importing country; see our electrostatic precipitator HS code guide.

Buyer record and key takeaways

Before the first call, have the supplier’s Chinese legal name and credit code, and run rows 1 to 6. Stop when rows 1 to 4 do not resolve to one record.

  • Before the first call:
    • The company name on the quotation.
    • A copy of the business license, with the Chinese legal name and the credit code.
    • The stock code, if a listing is claimed.
  • Ask the supplier for:
    • The ISO certificates, with the name of the issuing body.
    • The product certificates that name the model on your quotation.
    • The full test report for that model, or the nearest model tested.
    • A date for a plant visit or a live video walkthrough, with your list of six items.
    • Reference contacts, where its clients agree.
  • Stop and ask when:
    • The credit code on a document differs from the one on the license.
    • The registry record, or the supplier’s answer, shows a listing as an abnormal operation.
    • The bank details on the proforma invoice change by email. Confirm them by phone on the contact number in the registry record’s annual report before paying.
    • The proforma invoice names an entity that appears nowhere else on the sheet.
    • The walkthrough shows finished units but no cells, power supplies or cabinets in production.
  • Keep on file: the completed sheet, the license copy, the certificate and report numbers, and the date of the visit or walkthrough.

Once a supplier is on the shortlist, the next step is a quotation you can compare. What to send, and what should come back, is in our electrostatic precipitator quotation guide.

Key takeaways

  • A real factory: one legal entity named on the license, the record, the certificates, the reports and the invoice, not a set of workshop photos.
  • The key: the Chinese legal name and the 18-character credit code, not the English name on the quotation.
  • Certificates: checked with the issuing body and matched by legal entity, not by spelling; product coverage read from the model list.
  • The plant: cells, power supplies and cabinets in production, shown on a visit or a walkthrough you set the list for, not a showroom.
  • Our entries: the 12-Check China ESP Factory Verification Sheet applies to us as it does to anyone; every entry above points to where you confirm it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check that a Chinese company is real?
Search the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System with the Chinese legal name or the Unified Social Credit Code printed on the business license. The record shows the registration information, any published administrative penalties and the public annual reports; check it as well for any listing as an abnormal operation. An English trading name alone may not bring up the record.
How can I tell an ESP factory from a trading company?
Check whether one legal entity is named as the certificate holder, the manufacturer on the test reports and the company on the proforma invoice. Then ask to see collector cells, high-voltage power supplies and cabinets in production, on a visit or a live video walkthrough. A trading company can be a legitimate route to buy; what matters is which entity you contract with and which one builds the unit.
The name on the ISO certificate does not match the quotation. Is the certificate fake?
Not necessarily. The English name on a Chinese certificate can be a transliteration of the Chinese legal name. Ask which legal entity the certificate was issued to, by Chinese name or credit code, and match that to the business license. Our own ISO certificates print the holder as Jiangsu Baolijie Environment Technology Stock Co., Ltd., the same entity as Jiangsu Polygee Environmental Technology Co., Ltd.
Can I check a certificate or a test report online?
Yes, with the body that issued it. Since 30 September 2026, certification bodies licensed in China have to offer a free, real-time validity lookup for their certificates. A CNCA Secretariat notice scheduled the report number query to reopen to the public on 8 October 2026, searchable by report number, laboratory name or client name. A report that does not come up is a question for the laboratory, not proof that it is false.
Does a stock exchange listing prove that a company is a manufacturer?
No. A listing makes the listed company’s announcements public on the exchange’s own site; it says nothing about a model, or about a subsidiary or trader using a similar name. Check that the listed company’s name matches the business license, then check the plant on a visit or a live video walkthrough.

Checking us before a first order?

Send us your company name and the electrostatic precipitator model or airflow you are looking at, and ask for what the sheet needs. That is the certificate copies for the models you are considering, the test reports, and a date for an on-site tour or a live video walkthrough. Certificate copies are emailed within one business day of a request, and test reports are sent on request. Reference contacts are given where the client agrees. When you are ready for prices, the quotation is a proforma invoice with Incoterms and lead time, within 24 hours on business days.

Why we write this. We prepare the certificate copies, test reports and factory visits that buyers ask for before a first order. The questions behind it are how to check that a Chinese company is real, and why the name on a certificate can differ from the name on a quotation. This guide answers both, and fills its own sheet in for us. It does not size or configure equipment; sizing and quotation live on the product pages.
