An ecology unit for a Bahrain commercial kitchen is a multi-stage treatment train in the exhaust duct: an electrostatic stage for grease and smoke, UV-C for odor molecules and activated carbon for what is left. Polygee works as a factory-direct ecology unit supplier in Bahrain projects, shipping the train from Zhangjiagang, China, with a minimum order of one unit and a 7–15 day lead time. Bahrain is not on our published project list, and this page does not pretend otherwise.
This page helps you decide whether a factory-direct ecology unit suits your Bahrain project, and what to put in the first enquiry. It does not size a unit, quote a price, certify anything for the GCC market or file with a Bahraini authority. For sizes and stage tables, see the kitchen ecology unit page; for what sets the number, see ecology unit price; for the neighboring versions of these terms, see ecology unit supplier in UAE and ecology unit supplier in Saudi Arabia.

No Bahrain project on record, and what the Gulf record does show
There is no Bahrain installation on our published project list. The two Gulf projects we can name are set out below, with links to the country pages that carry them. Ask about either when you send an enquiry, and treat both for what they are: evidence that factory-direct supply into Gulf retail and hospitality projects has run before, not evidence of a result at your discharge, and not evidence of anything in Bahrain.
| Project | Country | Equipment | Units | Where it is set out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai Mall, 2017 | UAE | ODM units | 40 | Ecology unit supplier in UAE |
| Waldorf Astoria Lusail | Qatar | LK-E series | 30 | Ecology unit supplier in Qatar |
This table answers what the Gulf record is. It does not answer how your installation will perform; that depends on your cooking load, the delivered airflow, capture at the hood and how the stages are maintained, none of which a past project can settle.
One product route: the ecology unit, and when a single stage is enough
An ecology unit is defined by the sequence of stages inside it, not by one technology. The Polygee train puts an LK-E electrostatic stage first for grease and smoke, a dual-band UV-C stage second for odor molecules, and a CB activated carbon stage last for the residual VOCs, with the modules bolted into one run or stacked to suit the plant room. One treatment run covers 3,000 to 15,000 m³/h in eight sizes, or about 1,766 to 8,830 CFM; above 15,000 m³/h the extract is split into parallel runs on the project drawing. Where the condition on your discharge is grease and smoke only, with no odor clause from a landlord or a neighbor, a single in-duct electrostatic unit from 2,000 m³/h is the smaller purchase, and the product range lists that route; what an ecology unit is sets out the difference stage by stage.
| Stage | What it does | What sizes it | Washed or consumed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Electrostatic stage, LK-E series | Charges grease and smoke particles and collects them on stainless steel plates | The cooking load sets the tier: three tiers at or above 90, 95 and 98 percent design efficiency, 33 models | Cells are washed and refitted; no media to buy |
| UV-C stage | Breaks odor molecules apart with dual-band lamps at 254 nm and 185 nm | The extract rate; eight models | Lamps are consumables, changed on the schedule in the proposal |
| Activated carbon stage, CB series | Adsorbs the residual VOCs before the fan; coal-based columnar carbon with an iodine value at or above 800 mg/g | The extract rate; one module per size | Media is a consumable; replacement is planned for your site in the proposal, not on this page |
This table answers what each stage does and what sizes it. It does not answer the model within each stage; that follows the extract rate and the cooking load, and the offer names it stage by stage.
What a factory-direct order covers in Bahrain, and what stays with your contractor
A factory-direct order covers the equipment, the paperwork and remote support. Everything that happens on site in Bahrain stays with your local contractor, and everything that happens at the border stays with the importer of record. Settle who owns each line below before comparing offers, because a line left out of one quotation does not disappear; it moves to another invoice.
| Item | Factory-direct from Polygee | Your Bahrain contractor or importer | What it means for your quote |
|---|---|---|---|
| Electrostatic, UV-C and activated carbon stages, with their control gear | Supplied, configured for the stated site supply | — | The part every offer should price the same way, so state the stages, the airflow and the supply |
| Extract fan | Available with the ecology unit, selected on the total static pressure of the configuration | Usually in the ventilation package | Say which you want, or the offer that includes a fan will read as the dearer one |
| Ductwork, transition pieces, attenuators and any fire protection on the duct | Not supplied | Yes | Adapter work left unstated turns into a variation after the order |
| Supports, hangers and structural work | Not supplied | Yes | Module weights for the hanger schedule are set out in ecology unit installation |
| Installation labor and commissioning attendance | Not included; paid on-site service is available | Yes | Price installation locally against our general arrangement drawings |
| Import clearance and the GCC conformity classification | Technical file supplied | The importer of record files the customs declaration and confirms the classification with the Testing and Metrology Directorate | Agree who the importer is before the proforma invoice is issued |
| Submission documents | Prepared against the reviewer’s list | The list itself, from the consultant or authority | A late request delays approval, not delivery |
| Making the submission | We supply the pack | Whoever holds the project submission | Tell us who that is, so the pack follows their list |
| Spare parts and consumables | Common spares held in stock | Decide the holding you want | Quote them with the unit, so the first consumable order is budgeted |
This table answers who supplies what. It does not answer what any of it costs; that follows the stage list and the airflow.
Commercial terms, stated up front
Only the lines that change because the destination is Bahrain are written out here. The terms that apply to every order, payment, Incoterms, spares, remote support hours, OEM branding, the NDA and the pre-shipment inspection, are on our electrostatic precipitator supplier profile and are not restated, so you can hold any offer against them, ours included.
| Term | What applies to a Bahrain order | What it means for your project |
|---|---|---|
| Site supply | Configured to the voltage and phase count measured at the panel; Bahrain’s 50 Hz needs no change | State the measurement, not a figure copied from a regulation |
| Delivery point | CIF Khalifa Bin Salman Port; FOB or EXW when your forwarder books the sea leg | Name the Incoterm; the proforma invoice is priced on that basis |
| Clearance party | The importer of record files the customs declaration with the commercial invoice and packing list, and where the unit falls in a regulated category the GCC type examination certificate is theirs to obtain | Agree who the importer is before the proforma invoice, because the shipping documents are issued to that company |
| Approval documents | CE and RoHS certificates for the models they name, the ISO certificates, the third-party test report for the model offered, general arrangement drawings and specification sheets | Send your reviewer’s list early; a conformity certificate, where one is needed, sits with the importer, not in this pack |
| Minimum order and lead time | One unit; 7–15 days as standard | A single trial unit is a normal first order; freight time is added by route and Incoterm |
| Warranty | One year on the complete unit; UV lamps and activated carbon media are consumables and are not covered | Budget consumables separately; ecology unit filters sets out which stage is washed and which is consumed |
| Everything else | Payment, Incoterms, spares, remote support hours, OEM branding, NDA and factory inspection | Read them on the supplier profile; they do not change for Bahrain |
This table answers what changes for Bahrain. It does not answer the price, which is set by the stage list and the airflow as explained in ecology unit price.
Site power: 400/230 V, 50 Hz, under the EWA regulations
Bahrain’s Electricity and Water Authority builds, owns and operates the transmission system, as its page on the electricity network sets out, and its Electricity Distribution Directorate publishes the Regulations for Electrical Installations. Clause 404 of those regulations states that the Directorate shall normally provide a three phase and neutral supply at 400/230 volt, 50 Hz, that a single phase and neutral service is provided where the installed load is less than 20 kW, and that a customer whose maximum demand exceeds 1.5 MVA is supplied at 11,000 volt. Most commercial kitchen plant rooms sit in the first of those cases, and the measurement at the panel settles which one yours is. The frequency matches our brochure input of 220 V, 50 Hz, with 380 V three-phase configured to order, as the kitchen ecology unit page states, so a Bahrain order carries no frequency change. What it carries is the voltage and the phase count as measured at the panel that will feed the unit.
| Site fact | Where to read it | What to state in the enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Frequency | The EWA connection; 50 Hz under clause 404 of the regulations | Nothing beyond confirming 50 Hz; no configuration change follows |
| Voltage and phase | The panel schedule and a measurement at the panel feeding the unit | 230 V single-phase or 400 V three-phase, as measured; the build is configured to the stated supply |
| Feeder route and isolator position | The electrical contractor’s drawings | Nothing on the unit; it decides whether the access side of the run stays clear |
This table answers what to state about the supply. It does not answer whether the site’s feeder is adequate; that check belongs to your electrical contractor, against the electrical data on the specification sheet.
Import: the GCC conformity question
Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce publishes the import requirements for products regulated by its Testing and Metrology Directorate. The general requirements are the customs declaration form, the invoices of the shipment and the packing list; for the category it names Electrical Appliances and Equipment (Safety Requirements), the list adds a GCC type examination certificate for each imported type and an importer’s declaration of conformity. The regulation behind that certificate is the GCC Standardization Organization’s Technical Regulation for Low Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances, BD-142004-01, and its List No. 2 names the equipment subject to the conformity assessment procedure in the regulation’s Annex 4: thirteen categories, from domestic electrical fans, refrigerators and washing machines to microwave ovens, water heaters, plugs and sockets and air conditioners. Kitchen exhaust treatment equipment is not among them, so as we read the list an in-duct ecology unit is outside that procedure. That reading is ours, not a ruling. Products that do fall under a GCC technical regulation carry the Gulf Conformity Mark, which GSO says is affixed by the manufacturer or its agents in the GCC markets. Whether a given unit is treated as regulated equipment is the importer’s to confirm with the Testing and Metrology Directorate against the declared HS code, and clearance itself runs through Bahrain Customs Affairs. Our part is the technical file: specification sheets, general arrangement drawings, the electrical data, and the CE and RoHS certificates for the models they name.
| Step | Who does it | What we supply |
|---|---|---|
| Name the importer of record | You, or your contractor | The proforma invoice, issued to that company |
| Classify the unit against the declared HS code and the low voltage regulation | The importer with the Testing and Metrology Directorate | Specification sheets, general arrangement drawings and the electrical data of the offered configuration |
| GCC type examination certificate, where the unit falls in a regulated category | The importer, with a notified body | CE certificate FQC2602501 for the models it names, RoHS certificate BKC25114877LC for the lines it names, the ISO certificates and the third-party test report for the model offered; anything beyond what we hold is said so in writing |
| Customs declaration for the consignment | The importer, before arrival | Commercial invoice, packing list and the certificate references on them |
This table answers who does what at the border. It does not answer whether a given unit falls under the low voltage regulation; the Directorate decides that against the declared HS code, and the answer belongs in the enquiry before the proforma invoice, not after the goods arrive.
Khalifa Bin Salman Port and the Incoterm
Bahrain is served from one gateway. APM Terminals Bahrain has managed and operated Khalifa Bin Salman Port under an exclusive concession from the Bahrain Government since 2009, and describes it as the only general commercial port facility in Bahrain; the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications oversees ports and maritime affairs. A CIF quotation for a Bahrain project therefore names Khalifa Bin Salman Port as the delivery point. A FOB or EXW quotation hands the sea leg to your forwarder, and the port question moves to them. Transit time is the one figure this page cannot give you. Ask for it with the proforma invoice, add it to the 7–15 day lead time, and check the total against your on-site date.
| Delivery basis | What to write in the enquiry | What it means for the proforma invoice |
|---|---|---|
| You want the goods delivered to Bahrain | “CIF Khalifa Bin Salman Port”, and who clears at the port | Sea freight and insurance to the port are priced in; clearance and the inland leg are yours |
| Your forwarder books the sea leg | “FOB”, with your forwarder’s details | Priced to the Chinese load port named on the proforma invoice |
| Your forwarder collects at the factory | “EXW”, with your forwarder’s details | Priced at the factory gate; everything from there is your forwarder’s |
This table answers which basis to name. It does not answer the transit time or the clearance cost at the port; both come from your forwarder and your importer.
Documents for the consultant or the authority
We prepare the submission pack against the list your reviewer issues: certificates, third-party test reports, general arrangement drawings and specification sheets, put together for the market you are submitting in. Bahraini approvals themselves stay with your contractor. The reviewing authority and the consultant assess the installation through the project’s own submission, and a conformity certificate, where one is needed, is an import document, not an installation approval.
| Document | What it supports | What it does not prove on its own | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| CE certificate FQC2602501 (Machinery, EMC and Low Voltage directives) | Conformity of the models it names: the LK series LK30–LK480, the LK-E series and the UV series | Coverage of any model not named on it; the CB carbon stage is not named on it | Match the model numbers in the offer against the certificate |
| RoHS 2.0 certificate BKC25114877LC | Restricted-substance compliance for the lines it names, the LK-E series included | Coverage beyond the lines it names; the UV and carbon stages are not on it | The same model-number check |
| ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certificates (ABZB25Q30072R3M, ABZB25E30043R3M, ABZB25S30027R2M) | The management systems the factory works under, the carbon stage included | The performance of any particular unit | Ask for copies with the pack |
| Third-party test reports | The result for the model and the condition tested | The result for a different model or a different condition | Ask which report covers the model being offered, and read its test condition |
| General arrangement drawings and specification sheets | Dimensions, flange sizes, weights and electrical supply of the offered configuration | That the run fits your plant room; that check belongs to your contractor | Send them to whoever coordinates the plant room or ceiling void |
This table answers what each document can carry in a submission. It does not answer what your reviewer will accept; only their list does that. Send it to us early in the enquiry and we will work out with you how to cover each item.
The certificates behind these numbers are listed by product line on our ESP certifications page. The company facts a vendor registration usually asks for are on our electrostatic precipitator supplier profile.
What to send for a quotation
An enquiry that says “ecology unit, send price” gets back a number that cannot be compared with anything. The sheet below is what turns it into a quotation you can line up against other offers, including a local stockist’s. It carries one line a UAE enquiry does not: whether the importer of record has confirmed the classification with the Testing and Metrology Directorate.
The 10-Input Bahrain Ecology Unit Enquiry Sheet — the ten lines that make a Bahrain quotation comparable with any other. The ten market-neutral inputs behind every country sheet, with where each one is found and what comes back, are set out in our electrostatic precipitator quotation guide.
| # | Send us | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Extract rate in m³/h or CFM, and who set it | Fixes the module size in every stage |
| 2 | Cooking style and load | Sets the electrostatic tier |
| 3 | Plant room or ceiling void dimensions, with the access side marked | Decides whether the run goes in line or stacked |
| 4 | Site power supply: voltage and phase, as measured at the panel | Bahrain is 50 Hz, as the brochure input is; 230 V single-phase or 400 V three-phase as measured sets the build |
| 5 | Whether the extract fan is in our scope | Keeps offers comparable |
| 6 | The importer of record, and whether they have confirmed the classification with the Testing and Metrology Directorate | The proforma invoice and the technical file go to the right company from the start, and the conformity question is answered before the goods move |
| 7 | Preferred Incoterm: CIF Khalifa Bin Salman Port, FOB or EXW | Fixes the freight basis of the proforma invoice |
| 8 | Who reviews the submission, and the document list they issue | Lets us assemble the pack to that list |
| 9 | Required on-site date | Shows whether the lead time plus freight fits your schedule |
| 10 | The spares holding you want quoted | Puts the first consumable order in the same offer |
What you get back:
- A stage-by-stage configuration naming the electrostatic tier and the UV and carbon modules, configured for the stated supply
- The pressure drop of each stage at your airflow, with its basis stated as cell body or complete module
- A proforma invoice on your Incoterm, issued to the importer of record
- The submission pack list, matched to your reviewer, and the technical file list for the Directorate or a notified body
- The warranty and consumable boundary, in writing
There is no list price, because the number follows the stage list and the airflow. Ecology unit price explains what moves it.
Scope and limits
Three layers clear separately. Layer one, the offer: the configuration, the terms and the documents. Layer two, the site: import clearance, the classification, installation, ductwork, supports and access decide whether that configuration goes in as quoted. Layer three, operation: delivered airflow, capture at the hood, cleaning and consumables decide the result at the discharge. Passing one layer does not clear the next.
- No Bahrain project is claimed. The Gulf record on this page is a UAE mall and a Qatar hotel, and neither says anything about a site in Bahrain.
- No prices appear on this page. Send the enquiry sheet and the price comes back against a stated configuration.
- No transit time is stated. Ask for it with the proforma invoice and add it to the 7–15 day lead time.
- The classification reading is ours. Whether a unit falls under the low voltage regulation is confirmed by the importer with the Testing and Metrology Directorate, not by this page; we do not certify, and nothing here says a unit carries the Gulf Conformity Mark.
- Certificates cover the models they name. Check the model numbers on each certificate against the offer, ours included.
- Nothing here is an approval. The reviewing consultant or authority decides on the documents submitted, so send us their list before the pack is assembled.
- No consumable interval is given. Carbon and lamp replacement are set in writing for your site with the configuration proposal.
Key takeaways
- Record: no Bahrain project is on our published list; the Gulf record and the test report are what we can show, and the page says so.
- Route: an odor clause points to the three-stage train; grease and smoke alone point to a single electrostatic stage.
- Supply: Bahrain is 400/230 V at 50 Hz under the EWA regulations, so state the voltage and phase as measured; the frequency needs no change.
- Clearance: the importer files the customs declaration and confirms the classification with the Testing and Metrology Directorate; we supply the technical file.
- Enquiry: the 10-Input Bahrain Ecology Unit Enquiry Sheet makes quotations comparable; “send price” does not.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Have you supplied ecology units in Bahrain?
- No Bahrain installation is on our published project list, and we do not claim one. The Gulf projects we can name are Dubai Mall in the UAE, 2017, with 40 ODM units, and the Waldorf Astoria Lusail in Qatar, with 30 LK-E series units. Neither is a Bahrain site and neither proves a result at your discharge. Ask about either when you enquire, and judge the offer on the configuration, the terms and the documents.
- Do you configure the ecology unit for Bahrain’s 400/230 V, 50 Hz supply?
- Yes, and the frequency needs no change. The EWA regulations for electrical installations state that a three phase and neutral supply is normally provided at 400/230 volt, 50 Hz, with a single phase and neutral service where the installed load is below 20 kW. The brochure input is 220 V, 50 Hz, with 380 V three-phase configured to order. Put the voltage and phase count the electrical contractor measures at the panel on the first line of the enquiry.
- Does an ecology unit need a GCC type examination certificate to enter Bahrain?
- As we read GSO’s List No. 2, no: the list names thirteen categories, mostly household appliances, from domestic fans and refrigerators to microwave ovens, water heaters and air conditioners, and kitchen exhaust treatment equipment is not among them. That reading is ours, not a ruling. The importer of record confirms the classification with the Testing and Metrology Directorate against the declared HS code, and our part is the technical file, with the CE and RoHS certificates for the models they name.
- Which port should a Bahrain quotation name?
- Khalifa Bin Salman Port. APM Terminals Bahrain, its exclusive operator under a government concession since 2009, describes it as the only general commercial port facility in Bahrain, so a CIF quotation for a Bahrain project names that port as the delivery point. If your forwarder handles the sea leg, ask for FOB or EXW instead and the port question moves to them. State the delivery basis in the enquiry and the proforma invoice is priced on it.
- How do I get a price for an ecology unit in Bahrain?
- Send the extract rate, the cooking style, the plant room dimensions and the site supply as measured. Add whether the fan is in scope, who the importer of record is, the Incoterm, the reviewer’s document list and the required on-site date. There is no list price, because the stage list and the airflow decide most of the number. You get back a stage-by-stage configuration, the pressure drop of each stage, and a proforma invoice on your Incoterm.
Planning an ecology unit for a Bahrain kitchen?
Send us the extract rate, the cooking style, the plant room dimensions and the site supply as measured. We will come back with a stage-by-stage configuration for that supply and the pressure drop of each stage at your airflow, with its basis stated. You get back a proforma invoice on EXW, FOB or CIF Khalifa Bin Salman Port terms, issued to your importer of record, the technical file list for the Testing and Metrology Directorate or a notified body, and the list of documents we will prepare for your reviewer.
